Anthony Pile was a guest speaker during a celebration held at the headquarters of Ahold Delhaize in the Netherlands to mark the ten year anniversary of the Albert Heijn Foundation.
The event was attended by a host of special guests including Marit van Egmond, Cees van Vliet and Henri Zondag, and there was a video message from the Ahold Delhaize CEO, Dick Boer. Anthony spoke about how the business had grown with Albert Heijn and the positive impact that it was having around the world by creating opportunities for employment and supporting communities thorugh the Foundation.
The following day Anthony was presented with a bronze statue by Sr. Director, Produce & Floral & Plants, Said Belhassan. The statue (pictured right) is a miniature replica of the life size statue which was donated by Dr. Albert Heijn during the official opening of the Ahold headquarters in 1990.
The image symbolises the notion that the customer is always central and is only ever given to people who have made a special contribution to the business.
